Artillery Location
ACBS is a passive, acoustic system that provides the ability to detect and localize the source of threat artillery and mortar fire, and automatically transmit the location to a fire control system to permit immediate and effective counter battery fire.
The Acoustic Counter Battery System was proven to be effective against mortars and artillery during extensive field testing at Yuma Proving Grounds. Significant processing system efficiency upgrades have been made and field tested at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
